C. L. Hamblin, Fallacies (Vale Press, 1993).

Hans Hansen and Robert Pinto (eds.), Fallacies: Classical and Contemporary Readings (Penn State Univ Press, 1995).

Requirements: (1) Two papers (the first 2-3 pp. and the second 5-6 pp.), each on one variety of fallacy. (2) A final in-class exam. (3) Regular, prepared, and active participation in class discussion (including the collection of examples for each Friday's example day). Your final grade will be based on these in the following way: 16% and 34%, respectively, for the papers, 25% for the exam, and 25% for class participation.
