Bibliography and Prospectus
I. Informative Introduction on what I am going to talk about and why. My paper would focus on the development of the waste, excrement, and sanitation problems of Latin America through time, in particular in Mexico and Central America. I am going to look at the widely known ancient civilizations such as the Aztecs, Olmecs, Toltecs and so on. The main question I am searching to answer or shed some light on is what have we done with our waste/garbage thought time and try to generate a possible solution to the waste problems of Mexico and Central America.
II. First, I would give some information on the origins of the inhabitants of these civilizations, trying to see how they established their civilizations and adapted to the environment, hoping for some insight into the disposal of their waste.
III. Secondly, I would talk about the impact of the urbanization that produced the population growth and the rise of these civilizations into empires. This in hope to find out the impact in the increase of waste. I would like to find out how they dealt with their waste, where they disposed of it and so forth.
IV. Through the evolution of time we see the development of societies. In this section I would take a look at a particular class of individuals, their towns in a more recent time period, to see if there is an increase of waste production and what do they do with their waste. Also I would life to see if I could find out what effect has this waste disposal produced on the environment and their village organization.
V. Another section would be created for the modern time period. What sort of problems has waste management come up under? The effect of the population increase and urbanization in modern time on waste disposal. I would try to look at some aspects of waste management in to-days society.
VI. Consequently, I would like to come up with, introduce, or propose some sort of solution to the waste management problem, reflecting, analyzing and comparing the revolutionized waste management industries of first world countries such as the United States and how Latin American countries could adopt some of these techniques and procedures.
VII. Conclusion: Hopefully I would cap my project by answering the introductory question of what have we done with our waste/garbage and shed some light on the waste management problem.
