Cats
We currently have two
cats, a beautiful, friendly, if somewhat brainless Russian Blue named Jules Olitsky Olitskaia, and a
beautiful, friendly and reasonably bright Russian Blue named Wendy (she came with that name). Jules was best friends with Mr Toy (see
below) for the last three years of his life.

In Memoriam
We once had as many as
eight cats. All these are gone now—three given away, five died of old age. Here
they all are.
This was Velazquez,
ruler of the household. Best cat ever. 1987-2003.
And this was her 20 lb.
brother Vermeer, a big sweetie with
small brains, also known as Big Fat Kitten. 1987-2003.
And this was Georgia
O'Keefe, aka Muffin, a fluffy pin-up girl from
Together, Vermeer and
Muffin were often like an old married couple:
This is Jim, (aka
Robert Indiana, aka Mr. Toy, aka Petroleum) an athletic, energetic little
black fella. He’s was the last survivor
of the Furrious Five. 1989-2007.
Van Gogh, aka The Moo, a fluffy
deaf white girl who inhabited another planet most of the time. 1990-2002.
We owned three other
kittens for a while, the sisters Orpheus, Morpheus, and Persephone. We had to give them away to
keep our sanity.
