For each of the sentences (i) and (ii) below, take each of the following initial steps in analysis:
Restate the sentence by expanding on a quantifier phrase. That is, make the quantifier phrase the subject followed by is such that, using a pronoun to fill the blank where the quantifier phrase was originally. (If your restatement sounds odd, you may not have identified the full quantifier phrase.)
Mark the class indicator of the quantifier phrase, and note any bounds or exception indicator.
Describe the sort of thing that would count as a counterexample to the generalization; this will be something in the domain of the generalization that lacks the attribute of the generalization
Classify the generalization as affirmative or negative and as direct or complementary.
