This is a dialogue intended for students, so most of what I might provide in a reading guide is in the book itself and I’ll merely suggest places to look for it.

Each of the three characters is assigned a particular point of view. Their positions are noted just before the beginning of the first assignment (on p. xi), and the names of the characters are designed to help you remember who holds which position.

Some of the structure of the dialogue is marked in the text itself. You will find some of the key ideas marked by boldface and breaks between some portions of the discussion are often marked by series of asterisks.

There is a group of study questions at the end of the dialogue (pp. 68-70), and they provide some indication of what the author took to be the key ideas and arguments.
