• On page 8-10, was the experience Wes’ mother had as a child the only reason she was so stern with him?—DE
• Referring to page 11, when Westley was telling his son not to hit women but protect them. What do you believe has changed in our society to make hitting a woman an option?—ASC
• Also, in regards to this week’s reading on The Other Wes Moore, is whether or not the ER truly tried their hardest to diagnose and treat Mr. Moore, a widely known reporter as well as they should have? For reference, I’d like to use page 12.—LH
• On pgs. 14-15, the author describes how it was because his father’s face was unshaven, was wearing raggy clothes, and wasn’t from a wealthy part of town that he was discriminated against and wasn’t treated well. Do you believe this really was purely classism, or was there some racism as well?—MO
• On page 15 Wes’s dad was given the wrong diagnosis because of his appearance, do you think this still occurs today?—NB
• Pages 13-14 describe the death of Wes Moore’s father, and then goes on in page 15 to describe how the different family members reacted to the death. Why do siblings react differently to the death of a parent?—JS
• On page 22 the author talk about Wes’ father dying. How do you think not having his father around affected his decisions?—DS
• P. 28: Tony wants “to help Wes manage his (life),” even though his life is at the point of no return. How helpful can someone like Tony be to someone like Wes?—HW

• Page 34: Wes continues to advance toward the kid who punched despite the policeman ordering him to put the knife. Why are humans prone to doing things like this that are so unwise and illogical? Why does anger cause us to have this “tunnel vision”?—MT
• How much significance does school selection from the Mary (1st person Wes’ Mother) play on 1st person Wes compared to 3rd person Wes? Compare Riverdale to Baltimore public school.—RG
• p. 60 What do you think was Wes’s true reasoning for deciding to drink and try drugs? Do you think he was just being a stupid kid, or do you think there was some pain deep down that he was trying to cover up?—CSz
• Page 62. Do you think Wes actually listened to his brother Tony’s advice since he is still getting into the drug business?—CJM
