Part of your class participation is to write a brief response to each of the lectures this semester. In your response, you should do two things:
• Give a summary of the lecture. I have in mind no more than a brief paragraph of two or three sentences.
• Pursue one thought further. Either note your thoughts about a particular point that interested you, or present a question the lecture leads you to ask. This part of the response should also be about two or three sentences. (Of course, a question might only be a sentence by itself, but you’ll probably need to introduce a question by saying what leads you to ask it.)
You should submit this as an e-mail message to me (i.e., to helmang@wabash.edu) before the first class discussion following the lecture.
