- Spencer Tracy
is the latest (No. 59) and a somewhat more literate contribution
to the Bio-Bibliographies in the Performing Arts series. The
format is as usual with a bibliographical essay, a chronology,
detailed listings of stage, screen and broadcasting work, a discography,
a list of sheet music published in connection with Tracy's films,
a list of awards, an annotated bibliography, and a listing of
extant newsreels in which Tracy appears. Readable and intelligently
compiled, but as with all books in this series over-priced. This
book is staggering in its amount of detail. I don't think there
has been any other entry in the Bio-Bibliographies in the Performing
Arts series quite like it. Recommended.
